We've been having a heatwave of late.  It's been scorching hot in the last two weeks, so I thought of making some cold milkshake for the kids as a treat, especially when they come back from their evening playtime in the park.

Kefir smoothie with mango and banana

Nourishing Soups and Teas - Post #3 : Red Dates and Aloe Vera Tea

My final post in this "Nourishing Soups and Teas" series is this Aloe Vera and Red Dates Tea.  A friend of mine gave me an aloe vera plant some months ago.  It is the US variety (the huge ones).  I was delighted, because I've always wanted to grow some aloe.

Lo Han Guo and Chrysanthemum Tea

Oh boy, how hot can it get!

The weather has been absolutely scorching lately, the heat relentless.  Coupled with the lack of rain, it has been hot, dry and dusty the last few days.

Lo Han Guo and Honey Date Tea

This is my family's favourite herbal drink. I boil this all the time, about once a week or once a fortnight. It is good for general cooling against body heatiness, sore throat and cough. The English name for lo han guo sounds quite funny - grosvenor momordica.
