Nasi Lemak - The Full Glory

We Malaysians love a good plate of nasi lemak.  Steaming hot santan rice, crispy fried ikan bilis, salted roasted peanuts, lots of chilled cucumber slices, a good dollop of sweet oniony sambal and a beautiful piece of golden fried chicken.  YUMM!  That's my benchmark of a good nasi lemak.

Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Api, Negeri Sembilan style

My Ayam Masak Lemak actually has no cili api (bird's eye chili) because firstly, I am not good with spicy foods, secondly hubby has just recovered from a bout of diarrhea and fever so nothing too stomach-churning for him; and thirdly I wanted my son to have a try.

I am blessed with generous in-laws who regularly supply us with seafood and meats bought fresh from the Ipoh markets so that i don't have to brave the wet market here (hallelujah!) or buy overpriced (yet sometimes lower quality) cuts from the hypermarkets.
