Chives are very aromatic, but i am not sure if the aroma is really akin to garlic, as it is commonly described.

Banana Pancakes
Use pisang emas to make this, it makes the pancakes so much more sweeter and flavourful than the more commonly available pisang berangan or montel.

Tomato Lamb Stew
This was my first time at making a tomato based lamb stew. My usual version is a mushroom-and-potato white medley, but for some funny reason, I've been thinking of a red flooded version for the past few days.

Chives Omelet
When we were kids, my mum used to cook chives omelet for us at home. It was, and still is, one of our favorite comfort food. Since i have so much leftover chives from the other day when i made stir fry roast pork with chives, i decided to make this for dinner tonight. Oh, did i mention that the other "comfort omelet" my mum used to make is mint omelet. Now THAT was an even bigger favorite of mine. But we will save that recipe for another day :)
Chilled Mango Dessert with Sago and Grass Jelly
Besides tong sui (sweet dessert soups), this is one of my favourite dessert (Hong Kong and Taiwanese desserts are all the rage now isnt it). I used the golden lily variety of mangoes simply because there are an abundance of it everywhere, but any other variety would suffice.

Lo Han Guo and Honey Date Tea
This is my family's favourite herbal drink. I boil this all the time, about once a week or once a fortnight. It is good for general cooling against body heatiness, sore throat and cough. The English name for lo han guo sounds quite funny - grosvenor momordica.

Herbal Pork Ribs Soup with Chinese Yam
I first tried this soup at my mum's house a few months ago and I liked it straightaway. It had a delicate herbally flavour, and was a nice change from our usual repertoire of soups.
The herbal mixture comprises of yuk chuk and tong sum.
