My Favourite Salad Dressing

 

Very often, usually on Mondays and Tuesdays especially after a weekend of eating out, I will make a big bowl of salad for hubby and myself for lunch.

This one-pot-all chicken and mushroom claypot rice is always a hit in my family.  It is tasty, filling, and very easy to make.   Cook it all at one go in the rice cooker, and it is truly a fuss free family meal.

Sometime late last year, Mandarin Oriental Hotel KL organised a photography contest for their revamped, all-day dining restaurant called Mosaic.  I submitted four photos and were delighted to find out that three had won me some dining vouchers.

Food Review : Restoran Goon Wah, Kuchai Lama

To those foodies who are familiar with the KL food circuit, Restoran Goon Wah would need no introduction.  But for a PJ girl like me, whose furthest self drive adventure to the vicinity of KL stretches only as far as Mid Valley, the name Kuchai Lama is like "err yea, heard of it, but doesn't have the faintest idea how to get there".  So long as someone else drives, I'm game!

Mother's Day 2013

Happy Belated Mother's Day to my fellow ladies bloggers and readers. 

I had a enjoyable Mother's Day this year.  A few weeks ago I told hubby I would like to do something different for Mother's Day, like a weekend getaway to someplace out of KL but not too far away.

My Ayam Masak Lemak actually has no cili api (bird's eye chili) because firstly, I am not good with spicy foods, secondly hubby has just recovered from a bout of diarrhea and fever so nothing too stomach-churning for him; and thirdly I wanted my son to have a try.

Apparently this dish is a must-have during the Chinese New Year meals, but I don't remember ever seeing this dish in our family CNY dinners :P  I read in some Chinese cookbooks that this dish is considered auspicious.
