This was VERY good.  I couldn't stop snacking on it even as I was cooking the other dishes for dinner.  In the end, I ate my share even before dinner was served...haiya.

Homemade breads and a Rosemary Potato Bread

We are a family of bread lovers.  Our breakfast at home is almost always bread, with butter and jam or cooked sausages and ham.  Sometimes lunch is also made from bread - such as toastie melts and pizza on bread, both of which i make quite often as a quick and yummy lunch on-the-go.

Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

If you have been following my blog for a while, you would know that I am no baker.  I'm better at cooking dishes than baking cakes and pastries.

They say baking is a science.  It works on precise measurements and temperature.  Tamper with it, and you will be courting disaster.

Strawberry Jam

Never in my whole life have i ever managed to get such cheap and fresh strawberries - so happy! Tesco had a (re)opening promotion for these Cameronian beauties - at RM1 per punnet...an absolute steal.

Perfect to make that strawberry jam I have been thinking about for quite a while.

Easy Western : Post #3 - Leek and Potato Soup

I must be one of the last few people on this planet to discover leek.  The first time i used leek in my cooking was when i made Tonjiru, after having seen it on Sonia's blog.  After that episode, i told myself i must make a dish that has leek as the main star, so that i can fully appreciate its wonderful aroma and flavour.

Easy Western : Post #2 - Herb Crusted Fish Fillet with Tomato Salsa

Each time I watched a video of Gordon Ramsay cooking, it makes me want to rush out and buy all the ingredients and start cooking! LOL. Must be the fast paced shooting, the music and the way GR cooks.  Chop chop chop, sizzle sizzle sizzle, DONE.  He makes it look soooo simple.

Bak Kut Teh

My family loves bak-kut-teh (especially my 5 year old son - sometimes I reckon he can have it three meals a day and still wants more!).  Bak Kut Teh is a herbal soupy stew that primarily uses various cuts of pork, boiled over hours to obtain that heady herbal flavours with melt-in-your mouth pork meat.
